This is my house and these are the two kittens I recently adopted from the Cats-in-Residence Program at the 356 Mission Gallery. Their names are Fanny and Alexander Katz and they are brother and sister. They look identical except Fanny has white lipstick on. They were named after the Ingmar Bergman film and after the painter Alex Katz. I think the Welcome Companions bag and Fanny and Alexander make nice additions to my house.
I love the charms that you can get to put on your bag. I like to match my outfit with the charm, like this egg charm which matches my Lazzari sweater designed by Olimpia Zagnoli whose graphic design work I really admire.
Or the pill charm that matches the back of my ALL Knitwear sweater.
Some mornings I can’t decide what to wear. Alexander has stepped in to help me decide. He tells me that it’s a bit too warm outside to wear a coat.
My workday often involves me pulling from a costume house. This is Warner Bros. Costumes and there are racks and racks of clothes and accessories from all eras.
Sometimes I find cool pieces that I hope I can put someone in like this sweater vest.
For lunch I grab a burrito at one of my favorite Mexican stands, Tacos Villa Corona.
Next door to Tacos Villa Corona is a bird shop with parrots in the window. This is their colorful parrot mural. This is the outfit Alexander picked out for me. He’s partial to black and white I notice, but I love how he tied in the red in the skirt to go with the red of my bag. It’s helpful to get cats from an art gallery— they seem to have a good eye for color.
This is the shadow of me and my bag.
